The Homecoming on December 1, 2013 welcomed 300 alumni and families, professors and students of SBM in the spirit of ‘Alumination’, connecting and enlightening. Prof Yuk-shee Chan and Prof Leonard Cheng joined a sharing session on the past, present and future of the Business School. Prof Kalok Chan summing up that, “Every alumnus here today represents our past achievements and our future foundations. Our alumni’s success defines who we are as a world class business school,”
Three months earlier in June, Business School, including all Departments, Offices and labs, moved to the Lee Shau Kee Campus from the main building. The Homecoming event was a roundup of 22 years of the past and a new beginning to the future, after the School sharing session, alumni were invited to join the departmental receptions, our professors were delighted and excited to meet Economics alumni, their offspring and friends of economics courses. Mandy professors, in alphabetical orders, Profs Timothy Chu, Justin Lin, Larry Qiu, Changqi Wu and Chiwa Yuen, sent their regards to the Department and congratulated the opening of the new Business School.
The homecoming day also marked the launch of “Alumination Tree”, an Indian rubber tree which symbolizes alumni branching off further and farer. After almost one year, foliage recovers fast from the loss of friends around, now it is friend to all alumni and paradise home to many sparrows.
Alumni and families also had a good time in University center with balloon and magic show, the families liked the T-shirts for dad, mom and kid, and the Love HKUST edition candies.
